In particular, it has created a wealth of new media for businesses to get their message out to the consumer.  This also allows for traditional marketing strategies, such as billboards, to be revamped to meet the expectations of today?s consumer.  The guerilla marketing and alternative advertising strategies of today incorporate a number of different approaches and mediums.  Digital displays are like traditional displays except they transmit messages using light-emitting diode (LED) technology rather than paper or vinyl.  Digital media provides advertisers with the flexibility to change messages throughout the day to reach their customers with specific messages during certain times of day.  Digital advertising vehicles can be small or large, outdoors or indoors, and are visible day or night.  Advertisers can manage their messages using satellite technology, or a dedicated communications line, directly to the display.  Many digital networks are popping up all over the country which makes it easy for national advertisers to efficiently use the medium.  These networks exist for billboards, elevators, health clubs, gas pumps, and anywhere else people have time to view them. Bluetooth technology has been used successfully in Europe, and is moving quickly into U. S.  markets.  The technology is becoming more popular as more Bluetooth-enabled phones are being sold in the U. S.  Advertisers attach a Bluetooth transmitter to a message, informing customers to turn on the Bluetooth functions on their phones, and access the content at no charge to them.  In some cases, the user does not have to stay connected to the Bluetooth transmitter in order to navigate around the site.  Bluetooth technology has been used for downloading music, jokes, movie trailers, and general content. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags or transponders stores and remotely retrieves data.  An RFID tag can be incorporated into paper and vinyl as a tracking device for proof of performance for advertisers.  When paper or vinyl is produced, an RFID tag can be incorporated during the production process.  This tag allows advertisers to track when posters or other displays are implemented in a market. Projection technology can be used almost anywhere an advertiser wants its message seen.  Many successful campaigns have used projection technology on buildings, sidewalks, streets, parking lots, and even on water vessels.  Projection technology can save on production costs, and in some cases provide moving images similar to video. The Global Positioning System (GPS) enables an advertiser to change messages based on location and time.  GPS advertising is already in place on taxis, buses and other types of mobile media.  Clients can advertise location-specific promotions on a vehicle that travels the entire market.  Advertisers have great flexibility with GPS technology.  GPS technology can also be used as a type of mobile media proof of performance for advertisers. Digital ink provides high resolution, full-color, digital displays which are cost effective.  The digital ink effect is made from particles manipulated with electric charges reflecting light.  Digital ink surfaces look like paper but act as electronic screens displaying multiple images per second.  These messages can be controlled remotely at a lower cost than a video billboard.  </p>

<p>So you’ve started this business and you are so happy.   You have a nice website and some products and you are going to make millions.   Now two or three months have passed and you start to feel that pinch because not only are you not making millions, you’re not even making a dollar and you start to worry.   I can almost bet you that you are not marketing the business effectively.   When you start a business you must market it.   I don’t care how nice your website is or what a great product you have, if no one knows about you, then you really don’t have a business.   &#13;</p>
<p>Marketing will be key to your business success, so the first thing you need to determine is who wants to buy what you are selling?  Once you have determined this you have to develop a plan to let your future buyers know that you have something that they want.   Then you have to actually take action on your plan.   &#13;</p>
<p>You know who your market is and you are ready to take action.   You start marketing and your sales are slowly coming in, but you want to ramp them up more, so this is where guerilla marketing comes into play.   I am going to give you five guerilla marketing ideas that you can implement and for cheap. &#13;</p>
<p>1. 	Get a magnet for your car to put on the side doors ( I had this one)&#13;</p>
<p>2. 	If a you don’t want  magnet then you can get a name plate to put on the back of your car ( I now have this one)&#13;</p>
<p>3. 	When I go to the gym I wear a t-shirt with my company name and logo on it and this always start conversation&#13;</p>
<p>4. 	Speak for free.   That’s right I said free.   Whenever you speak to an organization or church for free you great exposure and an opportunity to perfect your speaking skills.  If you have a product to sell, you also get the opportunity to sell your product to the people in the audience. &#13;</p>
<p>5. 	Create your own holiday.   This can be a great marketing technique and a lot of fun.   Can you just imagine having your own holiday and making it known to the world so that they can celebrate?&#13;</p>
<p>These are just a few guerilla marketing techniques that you can use to grow your business, but there are so many more.   The general idea is to take your marketing step by step using a strategic action plan.  </p>

In today&#8217;s competitive marketing world, unless you can drop a million dollars on a 30 second commercial, you need to be more creative and devise your own cheaper methods of product promotion.  Guerilla Marketing is just one of the newer unconventional tactics used in marketing today.  Most sources define Guerrilla marketing as an unconventional system of promotions that relies on time, energy and imagination rather than a big marketing budget.  Typically, guerrilla marketing tactics are rare and unconventional by targeting consumers in the most unexpected locations and circumstances.  The main objective in any type of marketing plan is to get your product and name in front of as many potential customers as possible.  In the past the thought process was to spend the majority of your marketing budget on television and radio commercials, print, or billboard advertisement.  However nowadays in a world that fast forwards through commercials or constantly checks caller ID to avoid telemarketers, tactics such as guerilla marketing need to be implemented in any successful marketing plan.  Here are just some examples of guerilla marketing tactics that may useful to any business looking to gain attention without breaking their budget: 1.  Planting Your Business Card: People love to browse through magazines so why not stick your business card in any magazine that is related to your customer base.  In other words, my company sells car parts, therefore putting my business card in any type of car magazine assures me that anyone who opens that magazine and sees my card fall out is a potential customer.  Besides book or magazine stores, planting your business card in unique spots such as restaurant menus, bus windows, park benches, or anywhere your card can attract someone who is seated for a long period of time is a great place to start.  2.  Tissue Pack Marketing: purchasing small tissue packets with your logo or product on them is a fool proof way to have people hold on to or keep your information because it is useful to them.  Every time they pull out another tissue they are reminded of your product, not too mention every time they give a tissue to someone else it creates a buzz and spreads the word.  3.  Utilizing Magnets: Even the most satisfied customer will forget who you are unless you can somehow constantly remind them of your service.  Therefore giving away business card size magnets with every order will allow a satisfied customer to stick your information on their fridge or desk as a reminder to use you again.  It is very minimal in cost, but also very effective! While you&#8217;re at it to take guerilla marketing even further keep a stack of magnets with you at all times and stick them on any metallic areas that would draw a good customer base. . . . . . nothing illegal of course! 4.  T-shirt Marketing: Get a T-shirt made with your website&#8217;s logo or website on it.  Give away these t-shirts to deserving customers, not only will you have a happy thankful customer, but now you just created your own walking billboard.  5.  Bumper Stickers: Stickers are always great because they can go anywhere, not just on your car.  Bathroom stalls, benches, signs, street poles, etc. . .  Get creative with where you place them.  Areas where people will be situated for long amounts of time are a great place to start! 6.  Blanketing the Web: Marketing is all about reaching and contacting as many people as possible, therefore joining any and all social networking sites can get you in front of thousands of people in a very short time.  Sites such as Facebook ,MySpace, or any social blogs are key networking sites where the snowball effect can result in your customer audience expanding on a daily basis.  The key to social networking is constant contact as well as constant content.  Stay in touch with your customers, and never stop adding content.  There is no limit to the unconventional tactics of guerilla marketing, and almost any idea is worth looking into.  People love creativity when being pitched a product, and the marketing ideas that seem to create the most buzz are not from old school conventional marketing but out of the box pitch techniques.  It is a fast pace world where people no longer find the time to sit through commercials or look through newspaper ads.  You need to use new and creative tactics without breaking your marketing bank in order to turn your small business into a large player!
